Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham have just held fresh talks to sell player they signed in 2021

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of a Tottenham player who looks likely to leave.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to sanction the sales of several players this summer as he looks to reshape his squad.

The former Celtic man won’t have been satisfied with a fifth-placed finish last year and clearly recognises there needs to be wholesale change to allow new additions to come in.

With that said, fresh talks have just taken place to sell a player the club signed in 2021.

Emerson Royal in fresh talks to leave Tottenham

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano took to X on Tuesday night and provided a fresh update on the potential sale of Emerson Royal, who has been linked with AC Milan in recent weeks.

It seems the main stumbling block at the moment is Tottenham’s asking price, with the Serie A giants clearly eager to strike a deal for less than £21m.

Emerson, who Spurs signed in 2021 during Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign, wants to join the Rossoneri, so there is an acceptance among all parties that a deal will go through.

Rodrigo Bentancur could also leave in the next week

Emerson isn’t the only Tottenham player who could leave in the coming week as Rodrigo Bentancur is also nearing a move away.

The Uruguayan midfielder is currently away with his country at the Copa America and his teammate Fernando Muslera has been trying to convince him to join Galatasaray.

Bentancur is eager to join the Turkish champions and they’re interested in doing a deal, though, it rests on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Galatasaray have the Denmark international on their shortlist and consider him high as a priority midfield signing, so a move to sign both is highly unlikely.

A telling week or so lies ahead for the North Londoners.
