Fabrizio Romano says Spurs hold 'genuine' interest in Dusan Vlahovic
Spurs are still hoping to do more business this summer and hold a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian has emerged as a target for a number of European clubs this summer thanks to his 21 goal season last time out for Fiorentina. He is thought to be valued at over £50m by the Viola, who are keen to keep him.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs do hold a genuine interest in landing Vlahovic, while in further good news, Manchester City appear out of the race.
The news of City not being in the race is a bonus for Tottenham. The Manchester club had reportedly been looking at Vlahovic themselves as a Harry Kane alternative. But now, they seem solely focussed on Kane.
Spurs, though, could face a fight to get Vlahovic themselves. The noises from Italy this weekend suggest he could stay put, with Fiorentina chiefs increasingly vocal on the situation.
But with time in the window left yet, Fabio Paratici might just have one or two deals up his sleeve. Spurs fans, then, will hope Vlahovic is one.
TBR’s View: Time running out for Tottenham here
Fiorentina seem to be confident they can keep Vlahovic now so while Romano might have good news here, the fact is Spurs are running out of time.
If Spurs are to go for the Serbian, then it has to be quick and it has to be now really. Paratici can ill afford to waste time, especially with Fiorentina so confident. Reports have also suggested the Italian side have upped their asking price to a whopping £85m.
The time is now for action, if Tottenham really do want Vlahovic in London.
