Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester United have held internal discussions about signing Ajax striker Brian Brobbey.
The Red Devils haven’t had a great season, have they? Erik ten Hag‘s side are currently eighth in the Premier League table, having won just 10 of their first 21 games. Scoring goals has been an issue, which is probably why they’ve been linked with Brobbey.

Fabrizio Romano says Manchester United have held internal talks about Brian Brobbey
Manchester United have really struggled to score goals in the Premier League this season.
Erik ten Hag’s side have managed just 24 in 21 games – only Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Burnley have a worse record in the division so far.
Rasmus Hojlund is showing signs of revival, having scored in back-to-back games. That is a really good sign, but Manchester United could do with some more help.
Ajax star Brian Brobbey has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that internal discussions have been held about signing him over the last two months.
However, nothing is imminent at this stage.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “Nothing is imminent for Zirkzee. It’s different for Brobbey because he’s a player Ten Hag knows very well.
“So, he’s one of the names they discussed internally in the last couple of months. Also, last summer, he was one of the names they mentioned.
“As of now, I’m not aware of any negotiations or discussions with Ajax. I think it’s still early to know if they will go for Brobbey in the summer.”

Brobbey rejected Erik ten Hag last year
Brian Brobbey has been a target for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United for a while now.
The talented Dutchman was on the move last summer after he decided to leave RB Leipzig on a permanent deal. He wanted to sign for Ajax, but Erik ten Hag personally called him and tried to bring him to Old Trafford.
However, Brobbey turned that offer down and moved back to Amsterdam.
The 22-year-old told De Telegraaf about Manchester United’s interest: “Manchester United wanted me, but I really wanted to return to Ajax permanently. To make this possible, my agent José Fortes Rodriguez even waived his hefty resale percentage.
“Erik ten Hag called me and at United, José could get his millions and I could earn a multiple of my Ajax salary. But our decision was made: we wanted to go to Ajax.”
