Fabrizio Romano says Everton in final stage of talks for ‘deadly’ striker with ‘good dynamics’

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Everton are in the “final stage” of talks over Joshua Zirkzee.

However, the Toffees are directly vying with Italian outfit Parma for the Bayern Munich striker’s services.

Zirkzee is one of the most highly rated young players in world football, making Goal.com’s NxGn list last year at number 22.

Despite his talent and potential, he has struggled for game time this season, with just five senior appearances under his belt.

Bayern are reportedly willing to part ways with Zirkzee, and Everton are believed to have rekindled their interest in the Dutchman after being keen on him back in 2017.

Here is Romano’s latest update on the Goodison Park side’s purported pursuit of the 19-year-old:

TBR View:

With Zirkzee getting little game time this term, there’s a possibility that Marcel Brands could succeed where Steve Walsh failed four years ago in bringing the talented Dutchman to Goodison Park.

He is an incredibly talented player, who several years ago was described as “deadly” by Joshua Kimmich.

“He has good dynamics and moves smoothly for his height,” the Bayern star is quoted by Teller Report as saying. “And as everyone can see, he is deadly in his sixteen.”

That said, it looks like it could be a very close race, particularly with Parma seemingly offering Zirkzee the opportunity for regular game time.

With Romano suggesting Everton may not have that in mind at this moment in time, could that potentially prove a dealbreaker for the player?
