Chelsea are closing in on their first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have been linked with a number of potential new additions this summer, but now, it looks as though the first player through the door could be Tosin Adarabioyo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Fulham defender is close to joining Chelsea with negotiations said to be at the final stages.

Chelsea close to signing Tosin Adarabioyo
According to Romano, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for the ‘special’ defender.
Tosin’s contract is up at Fulham this summer, and he had been linked to numerous clubs.
Newcastle United were thought to be leading this race for a long time, but now, Chelsea appear to have gazumped the Magpies in classic Chelsea fashion.
Indeed, the west London club have a history of stealing deals at the last minute as they did with Mykhaylo Mudryk 18 months ago and Moises Caicedo last summer when they looked set to join Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.
Chelsea the best move for Tosin
This is a move that makes tons of sense for Tosin Adarabioyo.
The defender is very settled in west London having spent the past few years at Fulham, while he’ll be well-suited to Enzo Maresca’s style of play.
Indeed, much like Maresca himself, Tosin is a product of the Manchester City youth system, learning his trade largely under Pep Guardiola as a youngster.
Maresca is very much cut from the same cloth as Guardiola, and if he implements the tactics he’s expected to as the manager of Chelsea, Tosin could thrive at Stamford Bridge.
On a free transfer, this could be a very clever move from Chelsea, especially as they’re said to be cutting it fine in terms of Profit and Sustainability rules as things stand.
It may not be long before we see Tosin in a blue shirt as Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign the Fulham defender.
