Aston Villa have been busy in the latter stages of the January transfer window, with several signings seemingly on the cards.
No fewer than three new players are expected to arrive at Villa Park ahead of the window shutting on Thursday 1 February.
The Villans have reportedly signed – or are on the verge of signing – Morgan Rogers, Lino Sousa and Joe Gauci.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has just taken to X with an update on the Middlesbrough forward as he nears a Villa move.
The transfer insider has claimed that Rogers has undergone his medical at Villa. In addition, the contracts are being prepared for him to sign tonight.
Aston Villa edging ever closer to Morgan Rogers signing
Villa fans will no doubt be buzzing over how they’ve done in the transfer window of late, with several signings set to be announced if all goes according to plan.
Of those, Rogers is arguably the most high-profile player, as fans will be familiar with his efforts for Boro this season.
Rogers has been thoroughly impressive for Boro under Michael Carrick, with 33 appearances, seven goals and nine assists this term.
His efforts helped the Teesside outfit to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup earlier this season. And in the Championship, they’re just four points off the top six of the table.

Aston Villa set to sign ‘huge talent’ Morgan Rogers
“He creates, he’s dangerous. He’s a huge talent,” Carrick said to Gazette Live about Rogers recently.
“He is fantastic to work with, he wants to learn and get better all the time and is desperate to give what he can for the team, which is brilliant.
“He’s got a terrific attitude for the game and is showing his quality.
“He’s scored some big goals for us, big goals in the cup and the goal against Birmingham here. He has scored some big goals.
“He’s very creative. You can see he’s growing here. He’s at home here and belongs here and you can see him growing all the time.”
Villa have enjoyed an outstanding season so far. They’ll fancy their chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League. And they’re in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.
The Villans are also working off the pitch and, should all three signings get over the line, they’ll be great for the present and for the future.
