Transfer deadline day can often be a mixed bag for Premier League clubs, and in Arsenal’s case, it’s proving to be a very exciting day indeed.
The Gunners have already made two signings this summer, landing Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.
In addition, Arsenal have also moved several first-team players on, such as Emile Smith Rowe and Aaron Ramsdale.
And over the past few hours, speculation has been intensifying regarding the Gunners and an attacking talent once deemed “one of the best wingers in the world”.

Arsenal reach agreement with Raheem Sterling
The player in question is Raheem Sterling, who appears to be closing in on a move to Arsenal from Chelsea.
Things have been developing quickly on this front, and Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the Gunners and Sterling have reached an agreement.
Romano, writing on X, added that Sterling “wants the move” in case Arsenal decide to get it done.
In addition, negotiations are ongoing between the Gunners and Chelsea, with the latter club “open to finding solutions”.
Arsenal getting themselves a star player
The Gunners have been on the lookout for reinforcements on the flanks, and Sterling is one of the most proven players out there.
Sterling has made a big impact at Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, in addition to winning 82 caps for England.
Back in 2019, his captain at City, Vincent Kompany, described him as one of the best players in the world.
“It’s incredible because his first year at City was tough, and then from the moment Pep [Guardiola] came in he just kicked on and went from strength to strength,” Sky Sports quoted Kompany as saying.
“For me, he is one of the best wingers in the world. He’s so important for us. To have the ability to unlock defences when they defend with so many bodies is the sign of a top, top, top player.”
Hopefully things will continue to progress on the right track and a “here we go” isn’t too far away.
