Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal could consider selling Nicolas Pepe this summer
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal could consider a big offer for Ivorian winger, Nicolas Pepe, as the Gunners once again face a big summer of reshaping.
Pepe arrived at Arsenal in 2019 when then-manager Unai Emery spent around £72m to bring in the speedy winger from Lille.
But things haven’t gone brilliantly for Pepe since that day. He has struggled for consistency in his performances and it is only recently that Arsenal fans have started to see glimpses of his best form.
And speaking on The Arsenal Lounge, Romano confirmed that the Gunners would indeed consider a big bid, if it came their way.
“The feeling around the player is that Arsenal will try again with him, will try with Arteta also to build this consideration in Europe and let’s see what happens next season. But if an important bid will arrive Arsenal are open to consider, but at the moment it’s really difficult to have this money for this player,” Romano said.
Pepe has scored some wonderful goals this season but overall, Arsenal have struggled. However, a good 1-0 win at Chelsea last week has given them faint hope of finishing in a European spot. They are just three points behind West Ham, who are currently sixth.

But the big problem Arsenal face with that is who is going to buy him? More so, who is going to pay the sort of money that could tempt the Gunners into selling?
They’ll surely want at least half or more of the money they paid back for him. The problem is, nobody is going to fork that out for a player who has shown little to no consistency.
It’s harsh to call Pepe a complete bust, but the Gunners board must be kicking themselves a tad.
