Arsenal may have had a slow start to the transfer window but their summer could be set for a major boost.
Mikel Arteta‘s side are yet to see any new faces come through the doors at the Emirates just yet over the first weeks of the summer transfer market.
However, the Gunners remain in a strong position with their nearest title rivals, Manchester City, also yet to make a splash in the window.
Arsenal’s 2023/24 campaign was one they can look back on with pride having pushed Pep Guardiola‘s all the way for the Premier League title.
But it only demonstrated that there is still a little bit more work to be done for Arsenal to call themselves the champions again.
At the heart of Arsenal’s return to the top end of the table is Arteta who has overseen a drastic transformation over recent years.

Arsenal closing in on big internal deal
An interesting summer awaits the Gunners with small tweaks to their side potentially being enough to see them finally leapfrog City at the top of the table.
Only two points separated the two sides last season with Arsenal seeing their Premier League drought for another year.
But the club’s long-term projection may have come under question going into the summer with Arteta’s contract rolling into its final year.
This has even seen Arteta linked with a potential move away from London to his former side Barcelona.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are now closing in on securing their manager down to a new deal.
Arteta was entering the final 12 months of his contract in north London having been in the dugout since 2019.
Romano claims there is now a growing confidence around the club that Arteta is going to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Despite the links to Barcelona, the Italian insists Arteta was never interested and his goal was to sign a new deal with Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s stay at Arsenal could have big effect
Arteta remaining in north London for years to come would issue a big statement of intent from the Gunners given the trajectory the club is currently on under the 42-year-old.
This contract extension would provide potential incoming players reassurance over a possible move to Arsenal and it could also do the same for those currently at the club.
TBR Football understands that William Saliba’s future at the club largely depends on Arteta’s situation.
With Barcelona showing an interest in the France international, Arteta’s stay at the Emirates would have a big influence on Saliba remaining at the club.
