Fabrizio Romano has told his Here We Go podcast that Antonio Conte hopes to change the mentality of Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele.
Both Dele and Ndombele were among the group of players that did not travel to represent their countries during the international break.
Indeed, they are part of the squad that have been training under Conte’s intense staff – the likes of Gian Piero Ventrone and Cristian Stellini.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash against Leeds, Conte will have been preparing the players he has at his disposal. Romano has given an update on the duo.
The Italian journalist claims Conte is not going to throw either player by the wayside, instead looking to change their mentality to get the best versions.

“Antonio Conte’s mission during this new era is to give value to the players he has,” Romano said. “To see if these players are available for his project.
“Or whether they need to change their mentality. Dele is one of the players Conte hopes to change, same for Ndombele, he wants to trust his team.”
Romano on Tottenham duo Dele and Ndombele: If Conte can’t, no-one can
Ultimately, both players are superb players and at the top of their game – should not be residing at Tottenham during the international break.
They should be with their countries. But an utter lack of self belief on Dele’s part, a poor attitude and lack of fitness on Ndombele need to be improved.
As stated, if anyone can improve Dele and Ndombele and get the two attacking midfielders firing again, then it is under the stewardship of Conte.
Spurs lack that player that can replace Christian Eriksen, one that can work as hard as he creates – Conte might just mould either one into that person.
