Speaking on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Toney’s future, and the journalist says that the striker could surprise people before the transfer deadline.

Ivan Toney could be late transfer surprise

According to Romano, there could still be a final surprise on the Toney front.

“In the case of Ivan Toney, there are still some possibilities in the Premier League in case he doesn’t join the Saudi Pro League, so he could be one of the players to watch for a potential final surprise, at the moment there’s nothing clear or advanced,” Romano said.

Indeed, most top players who were tipped to move this summer have already left, and there aren’t many star players on the market at the moment.

However, Toney is still there as an option.

Toney is said to be available for £30m at this point, and there really aren’t many better options on the market at that sort of price.

Tottenham are interested in Toney, and perhaps they should splash the cash to make this deal happen before deadline day.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the final days of the transfer window.
