Amid some speculation over one Arsenal forward in recent days, Fabrizio Romano has now given a definite update on the situation.
Romano was speaking on the ‘Daily Briefing’ and provided some clarity on Mikel Arteta’s plans heading into the January transfer window.

The journalist said that there were no concerns over Eddie Nketiah’s future, despite recent reports saying otherwise.
And Romano continued to explain just how much the Arsenal forward has been impressing Arteta in training.
He said: “There’s also no concern over Eddie Nketiah – Mikel Arteta is very happy with Nketiah’s behaviour off the pitch, in training and obviously with his performances on the pitch.
“So it’s all very quiet at this stage, even if there have been links with new strikers and some outlets have cast doubt over Nketiah’s future as a result of this.
“That’s not my current understanding of the situation.”
Of course, it’s difficult to say whether this will be considered a positive update for Arsenal fans.
Although much loved, many consider an upgrade on Nketiah to be the next part of the club’s trajectory under Arteta.
Romano suggests Eddie Nketiah will stay at Arsenal and a forward unlikely to arrive
Arsenal have often been linked with a striker in January, with Ivan Toney the name most mentioned.
However, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if the club were quiet in the window, and preferred to do their business in the summer.

Arsenal had a lot of success with one of their well-planned signings last summer, and have little need to buck the trend in January.
Although there may be some temptation to upgrade some options, this is evidently a squad that is capable of winning the biggest of games.
And despite some perhaps wishing that Romano was delivering news of Arsenal pursuing a goal-scoring forward in January, Eddie Nketiah does still have untapped potential.
Although he’s proved inconsistent, there is still the feeling that there’s more to come from Nketiah, a player who started for much of last season’s title challenge.
And at 24-years-old, there still could be a steep upwards curve to come.
For context, the much coveted Ivan Toney was still playing for Peterborough almost three years ago when he too was at that age.
