Arsenal have been linked with Gabriel Moscardo in recent months, but it looks like they’re about to miss out on him.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to claim that the reported Gunners target is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In November, CaughtOffside reported that Arsenal are one of the potential suitors for the 18-year-old Corinthians midfielder.

Moscardo fits the profile that the Gunners are looking for in the market and Edu has been keeping tabs on him, added the report.

As well as Arsenal, the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona have been linked with the teenage prodigy.

However, it looks like PSG will beat the Gunners, the Blues and the Blaugrana to a £20million deal for him.

Romano wrote on X: “Paris Saint-Germain are set to seal the agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.

“Understand positive meeting took place with Corinthians on Tuesday – talks are at final stages for €22m fee plus €1m add-ons.

“Paperwork to be checked, then… here we go.”

Arsenal look set to miss out on Gabriel Moscardo

Arsenal could certainly do with bolstering their midfield ranks in the January transfer window.

Thomas Partey’s fitness remains under scrutiny. Meanwhile, the jury remains out on Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga is out on loan.

Moscardo is a top talent and, while he may not necessarily be ready to start regularly in the Premier League, he certainly looks like he has a bright future ahead of him.

As per journalist Ben Mattinson, Moscardo is “one of the best DM prospects in world football”.

The player’s strengths include athleticism, dribbling, tackling, anticipation, technical security, duels and press resistance.

Meanwhile, Football Talent Scout described Moscardo as “the future of Brazil’s midfield”.

Sadly, barring a late twist, it looks like Arsenal have missed out on Moscardo to one of their Champions League rivals, and will need to look elsewhere for other top talents.
