Mohamed Salah set tongues wagging this weekend with some comments about his future.

The Egyptian stated on Sky Sports that he may be into his final year as a Liverpool player, and Salah’s comments caused plenty of conversation.

The winger is a Liverpool legend at this point, and, as you can imagine, many want the attacker to stay at Anfield.

Salah is in the final year of his contract, and his situation does need sorting in the near future.

Speaking on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Salah’s Liverpool future, and the journalist says that he can confirm that the attacker is very happy at Liverpool and he’d really like to stay at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah is happy at Liverpool

Romano shared what he knows about Salah and his future at Liverpool.

“I think so. The situation for Mo is quite clear. He would be really happy to continue at Liverpool. I can confirm that. That is a crucial part of the story, Mo would like to stay at the club, Mo is very happy at Liverpool,” Romano said.

“Mo believes his future could still be in the Premier League in a Liverpool shirt, so the message from the player’s side is clear. Now it depends if they can reach an agreement on financial terms.”

Liverpool need to keep Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah may be 32 years old, but Liverpool would be fools to let him go at the end of the season.

Salah is playing some of the best football of his career right now, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

We’ve seen numerous top players such as Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski peak in their 30s, and given how well Salah looks after himself, there’s no reason why he can’t do the same.

Salah is a player who is at the peak of his powers, and Liverpool need to do all they can to keep him.

Salah is happy at Liverpool, and he would seemingly pen an extension if the terms were right.

When you have a player of this ability with that state of mind, you have to make the right decision and extend his contract.
