Tottenham are reportedly set to miss out on transfer target Peter Gulacsi, who is the goalkeeper for German club RB Leipzig.
German newspaper Bild claimed earlier this week that Spurs are interested in a deal for the shot-stopper, who has a £11million release clause.
However, well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has issued an update that looks set to spoil Spurs’ plans.
Romano tweeted that 31-year-old Gulacsi has agreed a contract extension with current club Leipzig, which will rule out any kind of move to the Premier League this summer.
The Hungary international’s £11million release clause seems ridiculously low for someone of his quality, so it’s no surprise to hear Leipzig have moved to secure his future.
He’s a quality goalkeeper with 20 clean sheets in 44 appearances across all competitions this season.

TBR’s View:
French World Cup winner Hugo Lloris remains the number one goalkeeper at Spurs, and his performances this season suggest he’s still more than capable to carry on in-between the stick next year.
The goalkeeper department shouldn’t be a priority going into the summer for Spurs with Joe Hart in reserve, but if the option is there to bring in more competition they should take it.
In front of Lloris is where they could do with more quality reinforcements, with the constant changing of centre-backs this campaign surely not helping. Additionally, targeting the right-back position and the central midfield area should be high on the agenda of whoever is appointed as the club’s next manager.
