Fabrizio Romano has posted an update on Twitter regarding Mauricio Pochettino and Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli – claiming a loan deal is ‘ready’, but Spurs will only let him go on one condition.

Dele, 24, was completely left out of the Tottenham side on Monday night as the Premier League side came from behind to beat Championship strugglers Wycombe 4-1. Tanguy Ndombele got a brace, while Harry Winks and Gareth Bale also scored.

The 37-time England international’s lack of game time has been widely reported – as has PSG’s interest in the England ace, which has not diminished since Pochettino replaced Chelsea-bound Thomas Tuchel as PSG manager.

Now, Romano has provided an update on Twitter – claiming a deal for Dele will be a ‘dry loan’ without the inclusion of a permanent sale. A temporary deal is ‘ready’ until the end of the season, but Spurs want a replacement first.

TBR’s view – Who should Tottenham sign to replace Dele?

They have been linked with numerous options. Marcel Sabitzer, RB Leipzig’s captain, has been strongly linked with a move to the North London club. Earlier this week, Sport1 suggested Gladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus as an option.

But do Tottenham really need to bring in cover for Dele? The whole reason the midfielder is leaving is due to a lack of game time, with Ndombele and Gio Lo Celso considered ahead of him. Perhaps Spurs need to let him go, without signing a replacement.
