Fabrizio Romano now shares what he’s heard about Chelsea and Aaron Ramsdale after Robert Sanchez’s injury

Fabrizio Romano has had his say after Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with a move to Chelsea following Robert Sanchez’s injury.

The January transfer window is usually a quiet one, but injuries could force clubs to make some big moves. Chelsea have lost Sanchez to a knee issue, and he could be out for a while. Ramsdale would be a fantastic replacement, but Romano has claimed there’s nothing there.

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are not interested in Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale is no longer the number one at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta brought in David Raya in the summer, and the Brentford man is the undisputed first-choice at the club now – despite making quite a few errors along the way.

That has led to speculation that Ramsdale could push for a move away from Arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window, and Chelsea have been linked.

TalkSPORT claimed last week that the Blues are interested in signing Ramsdale after Robert Sanchez suffered an injury that has sidelined him up until February.

Fabrizio Romano, however, has rubbished that claim and revealed that Chelsea are not considering the Arsenal goalkeeper at this moment.

He said on Kick: “I’m still told, despite the rumours and links we have had in recent days, Chelsea are not working to sign Ramsdale. He is not on their list for January.”

Arsenal should keep Aaron Ramsdale

Mikel Arteta has put his full faith in David Raya and that is not expected to change anytime soon at Arsenal, even though many argue Aaron Ramsdale is the better goalkeeper.

The Englishman is hoping to get into the England squad for the Euros in the summer. If he doesn’t play enough games, his chances of getting on that plane will reduce. That makes a move away next month the best option for Ramsdale, but Arsenal shouldn’t even entertain a bid.

The Gunners will have to sign a replacement if they sell Ramsdale next month, and the chances of bringing in someone of a similar level are extremely low, unless they are prepared to spend a fortune.

Arsenal have a strong squad right now, and the priority has to be to keep everyone together to go all the way in the Premier League title race.
