Fabrizio Romano makes claim about Leeds star Cody Drameh and Newcastle
Newcastle United are looking for a new right-back this month and Leeds United defender Cody Drameh is on Eddie Howe’s shortlist.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claimed last night that the 21-year-old Whites full-back is among two names the Magpies are looking at in this month’s transfer window.

Newcastle United have been sensational in the Premier League this season. The Magpies are fourth in the table, just a point below the two Manchester clubs.
That is an extraordinary achievement by Howe and co, but we’re still at the halfway point of the season, and if Newcastle want to stay where they are, they will need some help off the transfer market.
Right-back is an area Howe is looking at. Kieran Trippier is the undisputed number one there, but the Magpies need a quality backup as Emile Krafth and Javi Manquillo aren’t quite on the level required.
Romano was asked about the situation on House Of Champions: A CBS Soccer Podcast, and he claimed that Drameh and Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda are the two players Newcastle are looking at.
He said: “Also, Newcastle are looking for a new right-back.
“Cody Drameh from Leeds and also Ivan Fresneda from Vallodolid are two names they are following.”

Drameh has no place under Jesse Marsch at Leeds United.
The 21-year-old, who was branded as a ‘frightening’ player by Wales Online, has played just one game in the Premier League all season – 70 minutes in Leeds’ 5-2 defeat to Brentford away from home.
He hasn’t even made the squad since that fixture, which makes it likely that he will be allowed to leave Elland Road before the end of this month’s transfer window.
Whether Newcastle will make a move to sign him, however, remains to be seen.
