Fabrizio Romano issues latest update on £13m Olympic star who Tottenham want to sign

Tottenham Hotspur have made three promising additions so far this summer and they aren’t prepared to rest on their laurels.

Ange Postecoglou is still eager to land an attacking midfielder and a striker, with Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke in talks to join Tottenham.

The North Londoners will have to meet his £65m release clause to land his signature but given Daniel Levy’s reputation, it’s likely they’ll try to negotiate that down.

Whilst Solanke talks commence, Tottenham were thought to be looking at a creative midfielder who’s currently starring at the Paris Olympics, though, they’re now set to miss out on his signature.

Tottenham set to miss out on Amir Richardson to Fiorentina

Tottenham have been linked with Amir Richardson in recent weeks after his marvellous performances for Morroco at the Olympic games.

The 6ft 5in midfielder plays his club football at Stade Reims and racked up 28 appearances in Ligue 1 last term, helping his side to a commendable ninth-placed finish.

Richardson’s promising showing for club and country have put a number of clubs across the continent on red alert, especially due to his staggeringly low price tag, which was previously thought to be £13m.

Though, it now seems Tottenham are set to miss out on his signature, with Fabrizio Romano confirming Fiorentina are closing in on a deal worth just £8m.

Tottenham should turn to Eberechi Eze

After missing out on Richardson, Postecoglou should now turn his attention to Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham have been linked with Eze for months but seem reluctant to meet his £60m release clause.

Though, if they are to go up a level and challenge for the major honours, Levy will have to dip into his pocket and pay a premium for the supremely talented Englishmen.

Eze’s versatility would lend itself well to Postecoglou’s fluid style of play, so it’s certainly a deal that makes sense from a footballing perspective.
