Newcastle United are seemingly closing in on Eddie Howe as their new manager.
Multiple outlets including Sky Sports have reported that the 43-year-old is all-but set for the Magpies reins.
Howe reportedly held additional talks with the St James’ Park hierarchy this week regarding their vacant managerial role.

The positive talks discussed the finer details of Howe’s plans for the club and the make-up of his backroom team, added the report.
Newcastle’s owners have reportedly been impressed with the way Howe presented his views on the club, and his level of detail and research.
The former Bournemouth boss wasn’t likely to be in the dugout in time for the Brighton game, but both sides reportedly want the appointment completed by Saturday.
Now, Romano has claimed that Newcastle haven’t announced Howe yet as “there’s still something to be fixed to reach an agreement with his technical staff members”.
The new Magpies hierarchy has been on it since Friday morning, he added.
And contrary to some previous reports, Howe will reportedly get a deal at St James’ Park until the summer of 2024.
Although Newcastle now have plenty of financial muscle behind them, they remain in dire straits as far as their Premier League status is concerned.
The Magpies are currently 19th in the table, six points from safety, and have some relegation six-pointers coming up.
After the international break, three of Newcastle’s next four games are at home against Brentford, Norwich and Burnley.
