Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are just four of the clubs reportedly hoping to sign Franck Kessie this summer.
Just a few weeks ago, Sport – via Sport Witness – claimed that Antonio Conte’s Spurs ‘have already presented a very powerful offer for the midfielder’.
Also in February, TuttoSport – via Sport Witness – said Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have been ‘very close’ to Kessie. And Il Milanista linked Eddie Howe’s Magpies to the player.

More recently, Calciomercato claimed Steven Gerrard’s Villans have also made an effort to land the AC Milan star.
It’s unsurprising to hear that Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Villa are all apparently in pursuit of Kessie, as he’s a superb player.
Not only that, but his contract will expire this summer. And he looks unlikely to pen a new contract with AC Milan.
That said, the Premier League quartet face stiff competition from Barcelona for the 25-year-old.
On Tuesday, Fabrizio Romano provided more information on their pursuit of Kessie.
Crucially for Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle and Villa, it’s not a done deal, though Barca are apparently frontrunners.
Romano also claims the Spaniards have offered Kessie 6.5m euros a year net, or just under £104,000-a-week after tax.
In addition, the transfer insider touched on Villa making a “serious” proposal for Kessie, as per Pasquale Guarro’s report on Calciomercato.
“Many clubs that are making their enquiries”
“Let me explain the situation of Franck Kessie,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“There are absolutely no possibilities as of today of Franck Kessie extending his contract.
“The proposal from Milan was turned down by Kessie. He’s not accepting what they’re offering him.
“Never say never in football but it’s really complicated. And this is why many clubs are approaching Kessie these weeks.
“It’s important to say that Barcelona… are really pushing and pushing in the last weeks and hours for Kessie.
“Also, in the last 48 hours, Barcelona had new contacts with people close to Kessie.
“Let me say that at the moment there is nothing fully agreed or nothing signed between Barca and Kessie, but there is a proposal on the table for the midfielder.
“The proposal is for 6.5m euros per season net, so this is the proposal from Barcelona.
“Kessie is really tempted by Barca because of Xavi, because of the history of the club, because of the possibilities to play in La Liga.
“So he’s tempted… but it’s not fully agreed yet. We have to wait to see a contract signed or this kind of thing for Franck Kessie.
“Also because other clubs are interested in Kessie.
“Pasquale Guarro reported about Aston Villa being interested in Kessie for the midfield and is a serious proposal from Aston Villa.
“At the moment it’s not advanced also at this point.
“There are many clubs that are making their enquiries. He wants to wait some days, some weeks, before saying 100 percent ‘yes, it’s done’ with a club.”
