Fabrizio Romano has just shared some exciting news for Crystal Palace fans
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Crystal Palace have now signed and completed the Chris Richards deal.
The Eagles have been closing in on the Bayern Munich defender, having reportedly agreed a deal on Wednesday.
BBC Sport that Palace had agreed a fee of €10m (£8.5m) plus €3 (£2.5m) in add-ons for Richards.
However, Romano has now claimed the fee could actually reach €20m (£17m) with add-ons.
The key thing, though, is that Palace have got the deal over the line, according to the transfer insider.
Richards’ medical tests have also been completed, so all that’s left is for the official announcement.
And Romano stressed the final step is just a matter of time.
Richards has been with Bayern since 2018, when he joined on an initial loan deal from FC Dallas.
The Bundesliga giants then made the deal permanent in January 2019.
Richards has made five senior appearances for Bayern and has won eight caps for the United States national team.
The American also spent last season on loan at Hoffenheim, making 30 Bundesliga appearances.
Richards will become Patrick Vieira’s fourth signing of the summer.
Palace have already officially signed Sam Johnstone, Malcolm Ebiowei and Cheick Doucoure.
