Fabrizio Romano has just provided a fresh update on Newcastle United’s pursuit of Joao Pedro.
The Magpies have been heavily linked with the Watford forward in recent days.
Earlier this week, the Daily Mail claimed that Newcastle saw a £20million bid for Pedro rejected by the Hornets.

But on Thursday morning, Romano took to Twitter to claim the Magpies were readying a new offer.
And in the afternoon, the transfer insider claimed that Newcastle have indeed submitted another bid.
The Magpies have reportedly offered £22million plus £3million in add-ons.
Meanwhile, Watford want a total fee of £30million, with talks continuing.
Romano added that Pedro is keen on the move, and that he wants Premier League football again.
Newcastle would be getting a top talent in Pedro, a player with a high ceiling and experience in the English game.
Pedro joined Watford from Fluminense in 2019 and has made 78 appearances, including 31 in the Premier League.
He has 14 goals and five assists for the Hornets. He also netted the winner in their season opener against Sheffield United.
At just 20, he has shown real glimpses of quality at Watford. And he could play across the front-three for Eddie Howe’s men.
While he hasn’t been prolific for Watford, he has shown he is capable of stepping up and playing in the Premier League.
If Newcastle manage to get this deal over the line, it would go a long way to providing depth and quality to their attacking options.
