Fabrizio Romano has just shared some very exciting news for Everton fans
Everton are on the verge of bringing Dwight McNeil to Goodison Park, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees have made great progress in negotiations for the Burnley winger over the past few days.
Earlier today, The Telegraph reported that Everton were hopeful of agreeing a deal this week.
But now, Romano has taken to Twitter to say the Toffees have reached full agreement with Burnley.
Indeed, McNeil is reportedly undergoing his medical right now ahead of a move worth up to £20million.
“McNeil will follow (Ruben) Vinagre as new Everton signing very soon,” concluded Romano.
McNeil look set to become Everton’s third summer signing after Vinagre and James Tarkowski.
With the Clarets now in the Championship, it’s not surprising to see McNeil eager for a swift top-flight return.
“I didn’t realise how good he was”
In August 2021, pundits loved what they saw from McNeil in the 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
“I didn’t realise how good he was,” Peter Crouch said on BT Sport, via Lancs Live.
“He looked fitter, stronger faster in some way. He’s a wonderful footballer.”
Joe Cole went further, comparing him to Argentina international Angel Di Maria.
“Without sounding to give him a big up, he reminds me of Di Maria,” said the former Chelsea man.
“He’s perfect for Dyche. He’s played directly against Trent who had a good game.
“I want to see him freed up a bit more.”
