Fabrizio Romano shares Abdoulaye Doucoure update that Everton fans will love
Everton have just received a big boost regarding the fitness of Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees midfielder has been key for Rafael Benitez this season, registering two goals and four assists in the league.
However, Doucoure suffered a stress response in his foot in the 1-0 home defeat to West Ham earlier this month.
He was expected to be out for up to seven weeks, but now it appears that he’ll be back earlier than expected.
“Abdoulaye Doucoure injury update,” tweeted Romano.
“Everton midfielder will be back earlier than expected.
“He’s preparing his comeback in four/four and half weeks, after the international break.
“Finally some good news for Rafa Benitez.”
And Doucoure himself replied to Romano’s tweet:
Doucoure joined Everton in the summer of 2020 from Watford for a reported £20million.
He has made 43 competitive appearances for the Toffees, registering five goals and seven assists.
Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, but they’ve lost their last two top-flight games.
Benitez’s charges are next in action next Monday when they take on Wolves at Molineux.
