Fabrizio Romano has provided a “super positive” update regarding Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.

As Spurs’ talisman and star striker, the 28-year-old’s future is often the subject of speculation.

Last season, Kane reportedly tried to force a move from Tottenham to Manchester City.

Although Spurs held firm and the forward stayed, he struggled for form and goals early on in the season.

However, Kane is now back to his best and thriving under new Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.

The England captain is nearing the final two years of his Spurs contract.

At this point in a player’s deal, clubs often start to make enquiries.

However, Romano is optimistic about what the future holds for Kane at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“They want him to stay with a fresh new deal”

Romano, speaking on the Here We Go podcast, says the feeling at the club around Kane’s future is “super positive”.

He maintains that Tottenham will look to offer the striker a new deal at the end of the season.

Romano also stressed that Kane’s future will be linked to Conte’s future at the club.

But with Tottenham still very much in reach of a top-four finish and looking good, things look bright at N17.

“So the feeling around Harry Kane is super positive.

“But he also said we all want to play Champions League football here at the club.

“It’s also about other players, not just Harry Kane.

“Because we always say Harry Kane wants to play Champions League football and it’s not just Harry Kane.

“So they’re going to fight for it.

“But the impact of Antonio Conte will be important.

“What’s next for Antonio Conte is important to understand what’s next for Harry Kane, too.

“So keep an eye on this situation because Conte’s future is linked to Harry Kane’s future.

“And for Tottenham, their strategy is clear: wait until the end of the season, hope to go to play Champions League football and then offer Harry Kane a new deal, because they want him to stay with a new fresh deal.”
