Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Antonio Nusa in recent days and speculation continues to do the rounds.

On Thursday night, Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws claimed that Spurs were in advanced talks for the Club Brugge prodigy.

The Guardian then reported on Friday that Tottenham have been tracking Nusa – who reportedly has a £25million price tag – for a while.

Spurs have taken positive steps towards ensuring they are in pole position to complete the deal ahead of the likes of Chelsea, added the report.

Now, Fabrizio Romano, writing on CaughtOffside, has provided an update on the state of play between Tottenham and Nusa.

The transfer insider seemed to pour cold water on HLN’s initial report by claiming that Spurs aren’t quite so far advanced in their pursuit of the 18-year-old.

“I expect Tottenham to push for Antonio Nusa in the next days, as talks are taking place and will continue,” Romano wrote.

“The player is clear that he wants to finish the season at Brugge and then maybe leave in the summer.

“Let me clarify guys that nothing is done with Spurs, so the race remains open to other clubs too.”

Tottenham would be striking gold with Antonio Nusa signing

Signing Nusa would be another real coup for Tottenham in wake of the amazing signings of the likes of Pape Matar Sarr, Destiny Udogie and Dejan Kulusevski.

At just 18 years of age, he already has 61 competitive Brugge outings and four Norway caps under his belt, suggesting he can really go far in the game.

Commenting on Nusa’s abilities, Norway icon Gunnar Halle has lauded the skills and excitement he brings to the game.

“Antonio has some extreme skills with the ball that make him very exciting,” he said of the £25million-rated ace.

“He can challenge, get past opponents and create imbalance, but what really sets him apart from others at that age is that he has finishing qualities as well.”

However, with strong competition for Nusa, Tottenham must keep working hard to convince club and player to make the move to N17.
