Tottenham Hotspur appear to be closing in on the signing of Radu Dragusin.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the Genoa defender in recent weeks and speculation has gone into overdrive now the January transfer window is open.

For instance, Rudy Galetti took to X on Tuesday to claim that Tottenham are set to sign Dragusin for a fee worth around £23.4million.

Also on Tuesday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano took to X with an exciting update involving Spurs and Dragusin.

The transfer insider claimed that the 21-year-old has accepted all the details of Tottenham’s contract proposal as personal terms have been agreed.

“Despite public statements on new deal, he’s now waiting for Spurs,” added Romano. “Spurs and Genoa remain in talks to get the deal done very soon.”

Tottenham target Radu Dragusin is a ‘complete and dominant’ defender

With the January window now open, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou seems to have made a new defender a top priority.

First-choice Spurs centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been outstanding, but sadly Postecoglou has been without at least one for large parts of the season so far.

With that in mind, strength in depth is crucial, and it looks as though Tottenham are moving quickly to get the signing of a talented young centre-back over the line.

Dragusin has registered 18 appearances in Serie A this season, netting twice and providing one assist for Genoa. He’s also a senior Romania international in double-digit caps already.

The 21-year-old is young, talented, has a high ceiling, boasts considerable high-level experience, and is both available (which isn’t all that common in January) and decently-priced.

A few years ago, Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout deemed Dragusin a “complete and dominant” centre-back. And since then, the player has gone from strength to strength.

It looks as though hopefully it won’t be long before Romano utters those three famous words which anticipate a deal being on the home straight.
