Leicester City are reportedly closing in on a move for Inter Milan’s Stefano Sensi.

Fabrizio Romano has taken to X this afternoon with an exciting update for the Foxes faithful on that front.

The transfer insider has reported that Leicester are now trying to close a deal for the Italy midfielder.

Indeed, the Foxes are apparently advancing in talks with Inter over a permanent move as opposed to just a loan.

Romano added that Enzo Maresca is eager to bring Sensi in to replace Cesare Casadei, who has returned to parent club Chelsea.

On Thursday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Leicester and Inter have agreed a fee of €2million (£1.7million), with appearances and promotion both factors.

The same outlet reported on Friday that Leicester are now expecting an answer from the FA, in order to understand if they are allowed to register a new signing after Casadei’s departure.

There have certainly been some exciting developments on this front today. If all goes well, Leicester will be landing an outstanding midfielder to bolster their ranks as they pursue promotion.

Sensi has enjoyed a superb career in Italian football over the years, registering 56 appearances for Inter and 68 for Sassuolo, as well as winning nine caps for the Azzurri.

He earned praise from Roberto Mancini in 2015, the Italian coach telling Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sempre Inter): “He’s strong, technical, fast and also has personality.”

Let’s see what happens in the coming days, maybe even the coming hours. This is certainly one to watch.

Leicester are next in action on Monday night, when they welcome Championship title rivals Ipswich Town to the King Power Stadium.
