Fabrizio Romano claims Arsenal aren’t in conversations with Aaron Ramsey who wants return to club

Aaron Ramsey wants a return to the Premier League after becoming unhappy in Turin during his spell with Juventus, whom he joined in 2019.

According to Fabrizio Romano, whilst the midfielder wants to return to the English top-flight, there is nothing in reports over a move to Arsenal. Speaking on talkSPORT, the famed Italian journalist claimed the Welshman is unhappy due to a lack of playing time with the Old Lady.

Ramsey has endured a frustrating time with the Serie A giants of late and has started just one of the last eight games in the Italian top division since returning from a thigh injury.

When talking about Ramsey and the transfer situation surrounding him, Romano said: “At the moment there is nothing [on Ramsey returning to Arsenal]. He’s hoping to come back to the Premier League. He’s not happy in Juventus, he’s not playing. So obviously he wants to come back to the Premier League. At the moment there is nothing with Arsenal.”

TBR View: The sequel is never better than the original

Reports over the last few days have claimed that the Wales international was keen on returning to the Emirates Stadium.

And if we’re honest, there’s a sense of relief over the reports coming from Romano over a potential return to Arsenal. Ask yourself this, was Rocky one better than Rocky two?

Whilst the 30-year-old enjoyed a sensational time towards the end of his career in north London, scoring the winning goal in two FA Cup finals, his age and injury history makes him a liability.

Since his move to Turin, Ramsey has missed a few games here and there, due to a raft of different injuries. Whilst he hasn’t missed a significant period, the number of different issues he’s faced is worrying.

And then you have the prospective youngsters coming through the club’s academy, who after a season of watching the seniors fail deserve the opportunity to break into the first-team. Signing a 30-year-old plus midfielder would hamper the likes of Miguel Azeez and Joe Willock with the latter showing off his impressive ability over the last few seasons.

A return would be every fan’s biggest fairytale dream, unfortunately, it’s a poor choice and the recent reports from Romano gives off a sense it’s a far way off happening.
