Fabio Vieira praises Cedric Soares on Instagram after Arsenal win
Fabio Vieira has taken to Instagram to laud Cedric Soares after Arsenal beat AC Milan in their latest mid-season friendly on Tuesday, with the midfielder labelling the defender a monster.
The Gunners won the Dubai Super Cup after beating the Rossoneri. Martin Odegaard and Reiss Nelson scored during the first-half for Mikel Arteta’s side to earn the Gunners the victory.
It appeared to be another step in the right direction for the Premier League leaders. And it presented Arteta with a further chance to look at some of the players closer to the fringes of the squad.
Fabio Vieira praises Cedric
Cedric was one of those who featured. The Portuguese came on at the break, replacing Ben White. And it appears that he has impressed during his time on the pitch.
Football London gave his display a 7/10 rating, suggesting that he showed good intensity.
Cedric has since taken to Instagram to comment on Arsenal winning both of their games while away in Dubai. And amongst those to reply was Vieira, with the youngster simply calling Cedric a monster…
Next month is going to be an interesting one for Cedric. He has not started a single Premier League game this season. In fact, he has only featured in two games in the top-flight.
There has been speculation that he could leave. As noted by Tuttomercatoweb, his agent has held talks with a number of clubs about a January move, with Fulham amongst his admirers.
Arsenal do have real depth at right-back. White is back in the fold. Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu shone in that position during his first year at the Emirates.
So it would make sense if Cedric did look to leave next month. But clearly, he has plenty to offer if he does ultimately stay with the Gunners for the rest of the season.
