Fabio Paratici claims two of his Tottenham signings were always destined to succeed

Tottenham transfer supremo, Fabio Paratici, has had an up and down time of things really when it comes to the players he’s signed since arriving.

Some signings have been half decent at best – Emerson Royal springs to mind – while others have been flat out failures, with Pierluigi Gollini in that bracket. However, Paratici has got some right. Cristian Romero is one who Paratici can be happy with, while the newest additions, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, have settled in nicely.

And according to Paratici, who was giving an interview today to Spurs’ official channels, he and Antonio Conte always knew that Kulusevski and Bentancur would be ideal signings.

“We know, me and Antonio, we know these players very well because me I was in Juve before and Antonio because he was in Italy, so he knows very well the players. We know that the character and mentality and the style of these kind of players would be right for us,” Paratici said. (Football.London)

“So their adaptation was really really quick. So this was really the news, because normally some players need time to adapt, to adapt to the Premier League, to England, whatever, so for Rodrigo and Deki it was really, really quick.”

TBR’s View: Kulusevski And Bentancur Brilliant Signings

It’s hard enough doing any sort of business in January but to be able and go and bring in two players who have done so well and improved the first XI is a big achievement.

Paratici deserves some credit for pulling it off, really. Yes, he left it late in the day but you get the impression he knew all along he could broker such deals.

Bentancur has brought a calm to the midfield while Kulusevski brings another explosive element to attack. All in all, they are both fine signings for Tottenham in a hard market.
