Fabio Paratici reportedly wants 21-year-old attacker at Spurs, has 'great potential' and is 'key'
Spurs have appointed Fabio Paratici and look to be closing in on Paulo Fonseca.
And in terms of players, Paratici reportedly wants to bring Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham.
The Italian director is apparently planning for a busy summer at Spurs on the transfer front.
According to Calciomercato, Paratici is eyeing a move for Kulusevski as well as for veteran centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.
Who is Dejan Kulusevski?
Kulusevski was born in Stockholm, Sweden on 25 April 2001.
The 21-year-old began his football journey at IF Brommapojkarna before joining Atalanta’s academy in 2016.
Kulusevski made his senior Atalanta debut in 2019, before joining Parma on loan at the beginning of the 2019–20 season.
He signed for Juventus during the 2020 winter transfer window, though he rejoined Parma on loan until the summer.
The winger’s Juve debut came in September 2020, scoring on his first appearance in a Serie A win over Sampdoria.
Kulusevski is also a senior Sweden international, who made his debut in November 2019.
He came on as a substitute in a Euro 2020 qualifying win over the Faroe Islands.
“Key for the future”
Sven-Goran Eriksson has named Kulusevski as a top talent in Swedish football alongside Alexander Isak.
He believes the 21-year-old has “great potential” and will be key for Juventus moving forward despite those links to Tottenham.
“Dejan is a flexible player with great potential,” Eriksson told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Juventus have secured a really interesting player, key for the future.”
Spurs would be landing an emerging talent – TBR View
Kulusevski’s maiden playing season at Juve saw him play in a variety of positions.
As per Transfermarkt, he played on both wings, right midfield, as a No. 10, and even as a centre-forward and central midfielder.
Kulusevski grabbed 14 goal contributions from 47 games last season.
It’s not the highest tally, but it’s understandable considering how much he’s been shifted around.
Spurs need more of a goal threat and creativity next season, so Kulusevski would certainly be a good shout.
