Fabinho claims “special” Liverpool teammate is growing in confidence

Fabinho has claimed that “special” Liverpool teammate Thiago Alcantara is a player that is really starting to grow in confidence.

Thiago, 30, has had a challenging first season so far at Anfield since his arrival last summer from Bayern Munich.

The £20million (BBC) midfielder has found it difficult at times settling into Jurgen Klopp’s side, and the fact he’s only played 27 games across all competitions due to injuries has gone against him.

However, he’s now getting a strong run in the XI, and is beginning to really start influencing games more regularly.

The Spain international adds a bit extra guile and finesse compared to some of his fellow Liverpool midfielders, who are more renowned for energy, strength and work rate.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

27-year-old Fabinho, who is a rock in the defensive midfield position, has noticed a rise in Thiago.

“Thiago is someone special. He’s a really good player and I can have good communication with him between games because we both speak Portuguese, so I really understand Thiago. He’s a really good player with a lot of quality and now he’s getting confidence and it’s really important for him because he can play all the games, he can be important for us,” Fabinho said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

TBR’s View:

If Thiago can start next season how he’s finishing this one, Liverpool fans can be very excited.

It’s unsurprising he’s taken a bit of time to adjust due to the fact he was part of a Bayern side for so long that dominated possession without even thinking.

Likewise, Liverpool usually have more of the ball, but it’s a different style of play with their intensity and quick passages on the ball.

The Merseyside giants can certainly get back towards competing at the top again if they find the right balance in the centre of the park.
