Morgan Schneiderlin has posted a message to Everton supporters after it was confirmed that he had returned to France with Patrick Vieira’s Nice – prompting plenty of reaction from Everton teammates, past and present.
The 30-year-old has joined Nice after three and a half years at Goodison Park, following his move from Manchester United in January 2017. He clocked up 88 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees.
However, his time on Merseyside was hardly the best of his career. A number of injuries combined with a love-hate relationship with the Toffees fanbase and finally dropping down the pecking order have seen him finally leave.
Schneiderlin posted a heartfelt message following his Everton exit, thanking supporters from the Merseyside club – as well as Southampton and Manchester United – for his time in England, in which he played 393 matches.
Schneiderlin leaves Everton having managed just 18 appearances in all competitions this season. Carlo Ancelotti preferred the likes of Tom Davies, Andre Gomes and others in the middle of the park.
The Daily Mail claim that Schneiderlin has cost just £2million, 12 times less than the £24million Everton paid Manchester United for his services. Fabian Delph, Dom Calvert-Lewin and Ross Barkley, among others, reacted.
