Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye wants to leave Goodison Park before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to the Daily Mail.
The former Aston Villa man has reportedly been the subject of a £21.5m bid from French champions Paris Saint Germain, but it has been rejected by the Toffees.
Gueye is now apparently keen to leave the club to take up an opportunity that is unlikely to come around again at the stage of his career he now finds himself at – he is 29 – but Everton want an offer of £35m with add-ons on top.
But Everton crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of Millwall at the weekend and now do not have an awful lot to play for until the end of the season – with finishing as the best of the rest now the ceiling of their ambitions.

That – and the fact that Gueye now wants to leave – should convince Everton to soften their stance on Gueye. They can still secure a very good price for an ageing holding midfielder – one that now doesn’t want to be at the club.
He is integral to Marco Silva’s side, but they can secure a short-term replacement if they get their house in order early enough, while cashing in on a player who will never be more valuable in the market.
