Ezri Konsa posts on Twitter after magical performance for Aston Villa against Spurs
Ezri Konsa has posted an immediate reaction on Twitter to Aston Villa’s 2-1 comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, as Dean Smith’s men overturned an early setback to land a huge dent in Spurs’ European hopes.
Spurs came into the match with the knowledge that a win, or even a point, would hand them the advantage in the race for the Europa League. But the 2-1 loss leaves Spurs, Everton, West Ham and Arsenal all within a shout.
Steven Bergwijn had scored a brilliant goal for Spurs in the opening 10 minutes, but Villa came back. A horrendous own goal from Spanish man Sergio Reguilon was followed up by Reguilon then giving the ball away for the second.
Ollie Watkins capitalised with Eric Dier failing to get back following Reguilon’s mistake. Villa then had to hold on and Konsa, a boyhood Tottenham fan, proved crucial in doing just that alongside England defender Tyrone Mings.
His display helped keep the likes of Harry Kane, Gareth Bale, Son Heung min, Dele Alli and other Spurs stars quiet. The defeat for Tottenham delivers a hammer blow in their race for sixth – at the hands of Villa and Konsa.
He posted on Twitter after the match, uploading a four-word verdict.
