Ezgjan Alioski can help fill Jack Clarke void at Leeds

Leeds United’s versatile ace Ezgjan Alioski could be the right man to step up next season to help cope with the imminent loss of Jack Clarke.

BBC Sport reports that Clarke is set for a medical ahead of a £10million move to Tottenham, which is expected to be finalised soon.

The report details that a fee has been agreed for the 18-year-old attacker and he is close to a switch to the Premier League.

Clarke played just 25 first-team games across all competitions last season, but offered some extra quality in the final third when he played and was a goal threat.

His expected exit will leave a void in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad and they will need their other attackers to step up, especially in wide areas against full-backs.

Alioski could be someone that comes to the fore next season for the Yorkshire club and step up in an attacking wide role.

The 27-year-old has mainly been a winger during his time at Elland Road and delivered some inconsistent displays.

He’s got a tremendous work-rate and is full of running, but can be a little erratic in attacking positions.

Alioski found real success slotting in at left-back in the second half of last season, but Barry Douglas should return to the full-back area for the new campaign.

Leeds should push Alioski forward into advanced position once again to see if he can recreate his form out wide.

He’s got a dangerous left foot and can beat a man one-on-one, which is why this pre-season under Bielsa could be a crucial one.
