A number of Liverpool fans have urged the Reds to move for Saul Niguez in wake of Thiago Alcantara’s knock.
Liverpool confirmed on Wednesday that the Spain international will miss the Reds’ matches against Bologna.
Thiago only linked up with the Liverpool squad for pre-season training last week after an extended break following Euro 2020.

However, the 30-year-old was not pictured when Liverpool started training in Evian earlier this week.
Ahead of facing Bologna in two 60-minute matches on Thursday, Klopp confirmed Thiago is currently suffering with a minor injury.
He will not be fit to face the Serie A side, but could return to full training next week, added the Liverpool boss.
“Thiago came here with a slight issue,” Klopp told the Liverpool website.

“He has three weeks off and the slight issue is still (there), which he was feeling.
“We don’t take any risks. He’s part of parts of training and in these little things he looks great, but it’s more the longer distances where he struggles slightly.
“We have to make sure that will be sorted and we are on it. I think he will be in next week, (at the) latest, in full training.”
Given Thiago has been on the sidelines a number of times since joining Liverpool, some fans were anxious to hear this update and think they need cover in midfield.
And with speculation linking the Reds with Atletico Madrid’s Saul, there have been renewed calls to sign the player before transfer deadline day.
Here is what some Liverpool fans have said on social media:
Two weeks ago, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Premier League clubs have made a move for Saul.
TEAMtalk, meanwhile, suggested Liverpool and Chelsea were eyeing the 26-year-old.
Saul reportedly earns £207,000-a-week and is apparently valued at up to £45million.
