Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is currently away from the Emirates Stadium on loan, and potentially from Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans.
However, he seems to have a big fan in Italian scout Luca Borriello, who has advised Serie A side Napoli to move for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal signed Torreira from Sampdoria for a reported £26million in 2018 and, to date, he has made 89 competitive appearances for the Gunners, claiming 10 goal contributions.

However, he was deemed surplus to requirements by Arteta at the start of the season and ended up joining Atletico Madrid on loan, where he has made 21 appearances.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Torreira in the summer, and given his prior stint in Italy and purported love of the country and the league, speculation is never far away.
Borriello, speaking to Area Napoli, said: “Lucas Torreira, on Arsenal’s books but currently on loan at Atletico, they’re trying to sell him, but I don’t understand why Napoli don’t look at him.
“He costs 20million (Euro, or around £17million), he’s a real monster. I don’t understand what (Napoli) are waiting for, he’d be a coup of a signing.
“I’d snap him up immediately, at that price he would be an extraordinary bargain. He’s a complete footballer, versatile, makes his presence felt in midfield and lights up the whole team’s play.”
TBR View:
Torreira has been fairly unlucky at Arsenal, from Unai Emery’s failed No. 10 experiment to struggles for game time after returning to injury.
Arteta appears to have deemed Torreira surplus to requirements, hence his loan move, but he hasn’t been given much game time at Atletico.
Chances are he’ll return to the Emirates in the summer but then it’s likely he’ll go elsewhere, and Italy would probably be a good shout, given his prior experience there.
