'Expecting big things': 21-year-old Arsenal youngster tipped to shine at World Cup by player Emery let go
England take on the USA in their second World Cup group stage game and will be looking to ensure qualification at the earliest possible opportunity.
Saka got the nod ahead of Phil Foden on Monday against Iran and proved Gareth Southgate’s decision right with two goals in that 6-2 win.
And Musah was asked by the Evening Standard about Saka, as well as Jude Bellingham, who he played with in the England youth ranks between Under 15 and Under 18 levels.
Musah on Saka
He said: “I haven’t spoken to them recently, but we are expecting big things from both Bukayo and Jude.”
“They are both very key players for them, very good players playing week in week out for their clubs.
“We are going to have to be on our game on Friday.”
Saka will expect to keep his place in the side after the double against Iran, where he enjoyed a dream World Cup debut.
He has recovered impressively from the penalty heartbreak at Euro 2020, and shone on his first tournament appearance for England since then.
It will be interesting to see if Southgate makes any changes to his side against the USA, who drew their first match 1-1 with Wales, in a classic game of two halves.
