Arsenal on-loan midfielder Dani Ceballos will leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 24-year-old has been on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid for the past two seasons, clocking up 75 appearances in red and white.

However, Ceballos hasn’t quite managed to cement a place in the Arsenal starting XI, with 15 starts from 30 league games and six Europa League starts this term.

Earlier this week, the Spaniard told Onda Cero – as reported in The Mirror – that he felt “La Liga is better for my game”, hinting at a return to Spain in the summer.

And on Friday, Romano posted the following update on Twitter:

TBR View:

Ceballos may have played a decent amount of games for Arsenal and shown glimpses of his quality, but he’s been somewhat inconsistent and there have been some poor displays in there.

He’s not quite surplus to requirements but if he were to leave at the end of the season, then there are other options Arteta could look at, both in the transfer market and at Hale End – Miguel Azeez, for example.
