Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi appears to be closing on a return to full fitness, after he uploaded an image of himself in training to his Instagram.
The German defender is yet to feature for the Gunners this season, and played his last game for the club back in July against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.
The player has been sidelined nursing a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss the club’s final two games against Aston Villa and Watford, as well as the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
During his time out injured, speculation has been swirling around Mustafi, with The Sun claiming recently that the player is up for sale.
The focused star posted a picture of himself being put through his paces, along with the one-word caption ‘Determination’, with an accompanying fist emoji.

The use of the word ‘determination’ is interesting.
Perhaps this is a subtle way of Mustafi saying he isn’t going anywhere amid the exit talk. That he is keen to stay and fight for his place. Or it may well simply just be a routine social media post.
Time will tell, but Mustafi’s game definitely improved towards the end of last season, and many fans in the comments were happy to see him nearing a return to full fitness.
