Manchester United and Liverpool are both wanting to do business this summer and one of Europe’s top young players is on both their radars.

With Arne Slot now in charge at Anfield and Michael Edwards back, Liverpool fans are expecting some top signings to be made this summer.

Over at Old Trafford, the INEOS era is underway and while funds could be limited, United still want to make a few big signings to appease supporters.

Both clubs have a number of different positions in mind when it comes to strengthening.

And according to TBR Football sources, one of the top young defenders in Europe is being courted by both clubs.

Manchester United and Liverpool refusing to give up on Leny Yoro

TBR Football has been told that Liverpool and Manchester United are not giving up on Leny Yoro.

Yoro, one of the most highly-rated young players in Europe, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Lille and at just 18 is a first-team regular.

Most of the Premier League’s top of clubs have been on his trail for the last 12-months and interest remains, especially from Liverpool and United.

Lille have admitted that Yoro, who has just 12-months left on his current deal, is available to leave this summer but they are seeking a deal worth close to €50m and whilst that is a figure the English club’s would consider – it is an issue for Real Madrid.

And Real Madrid are a big issue – they are firm favourites to land Yoro, and TBR understands his desire is to move to the Spanish capital.

Madrid are also in talks with Bayern Munich over Alphonso Davies, who like Yoro has 12-moths left on his deal. TBR has been informed that Real don’t want to pay more than €30m for either player and they are prepared to wait, believing that both players would wait until 2025 to join them when their contracts expire – as Kylian Mbappe is doing this summer.

However, asking 18-year-old Yoro to wait, is a risk for Madrid – given the interest from England.

Leny Yoro destined for the top

It’s little wonder so many clubs are keen on Leny Yoro given what he’s done with Lille already.

The young defender is clearly someone Real Madrid want and that says it all really given the calibre of player they’ve had over the years.

Described as an ‘incredible’ talent who is also ‘very strong, fast, and above all, intelligent’, Yoro looks very much destined for a career right at the very top of the game.
