“Excited”, “Will be good” – These West Ham fans react to news that Ajeti is set to make debut

West Ham United signed Basel striker Albian Ajeti for £8 million this summer, as reported by the BBC.

The 22-year-old scored 21 goals for the Swiss club in all competitions last season. He is certainly an exciting prospect with plenty of potential to improve further in future.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Ajeti will make his bow for his new club in their League Cup clash with Newport County on Tuesday night. As quoted by Football.London, the Chilean coach said, “I am sure that Ajeti will play…He deserves that opportunity, he is doing very well during training sessions”.

Ajeti will be desperate to get his career with the Irons off to a good start. He’ll certainly fancy his chances of impressing against the League Two opposition. He will be aiming to prove his worthiness for Premier League consideration. However, with Sebastien Haller currently impressing for the club it’ll be tough for Ajeti to force his way into the starting XI.

In any case, fans will be excited to get their first glimpse of the new signing. If he can even come close to replicating the form he showed with Basel last season then he’ll certainly be a hit at the London Stadium.

Following Pellegrini’s announcement about Ajeti, plenty of West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss his upcoming involvement.
