Leicester City duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Ayoze Perez have both been named in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.

Iheanacho was the star of the show, netting a wonderful hat-trick and setting up two golden opportunities for Jamie Vardy as well.

Perez, meanwhile, weighed in with a superb finish to double Leicester’s lead on 64 minutes, the goal which then caused the floodgates to open.

Returning to the side after missing six games due to injury, the 27-year-old was a constant threat thanks to his passing, running and movement.

Iheanacho and Perez’s displays impressed Shearer, who named them both in his latest XI.

“A hat-trick and a superb performance,” Shearer wrote about Iheanacho on the Premier League website. “The Nigerian is really thriving alongside Vardy up front.”

And of Perez, the Newcastle and England legend wrote: “He played with a free role and was excellent, scoring a fine goal in the process.”

Leicester’s 5-0 win, which also saw Ethan Ampadu score an own goal, kept Brendan Rodgers’ side in third place in the table, on 56 points.
