A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to praise Nir Bitton’s impressive performance for Israel against Scotland last night.
The Hoops utility man was up against some of his club teammates as they locked horns in the UEFA Nations League, the two sides playing out a 1-1 draw.
Bitton had a pretty straightforward evening against Scotland, keeping club teammate Ryan Christie at bay for much of the encounter.

Christie did get onto the scoresheet via a first-half penalty won by John McGinn after he was challenged by Eytan Tibi, but Eran Zahavi equalised in the second half for a share of the spoils.
Overall, Bitton’s display was near-flawless, and plenty of Bhoys sung his praises during and after the game:
Bitton has been at Celtic since joining from Israeli club Ashdod in 2013 for a reported £700,000 fee and has made 213 competitive appearances for the Hoops.
However, he struggled for game time last season, making 30 appearances, of which 15 were in the Scottish Premiership and just nine were league starts.
Could Bitton’s Friday night display give Neil Lennon food for thought when club football resumes after the international break?
