Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has praised two of the club’s summer signings, and claimed Jose Mourinho has ‘brainwashed’ his squad.
Spurs currently sit top of the Premier League after beating Manchester City on Saturday evening, but Liverpool’s win over Leicester yesterday means both sides are on 20 points.
It’s been a wonderful response from Spurs since their dismal opening day defeat to Everton, and some people are now beginning to talk up their title chances.

One of those is Sherwood, who reckons the club are heading in the right direction under the Special One.
He said on talkSPORT: “Jose has brainwashed his players to believe they have to work to achieve something – they need to win trophies, this group of players.
“When you play as solid as they do, he’s almost brainwashed them into believing.”
And Sherwood picked out two of Tottenham’s summer signings for special praise.
He added: “He’s bought very well, [Sergio] Reguilon has been a good signing at left-back, but [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg for me has been the best signing. He fits into the style and just protects the two centre-halves.”
TBR’s View – Hojbjerg and Reguilon key additions
Sherwood is right to single out Hojbjerg and Reguilon.

The pair have been fantastic early doors for Spurs and have massively improved the holding midfield and left-back positions respectively.
Hojbjerg especially has been a breath of fresh air in central midfield for Spurs, and it’s plainly obvious what the manager thinks about his new enforcer having regularly praised him.
The duo stand to be key cogs for a Spurs team that is growing in confidence by the week.
