Former Liverpool hero John Aldridge wants Jurgen Klopp to use Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones in the EFL Cup.
Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield in the fourth round of the EFL Cup and Klopp is expected to make changes. There could be several youngsters, including Elliott and Jones, in the line-up.
Aldridge previewed the clash in a feature for The Liverpool Echo, where he claimed he was excited to watch Jones and Elliott. The two Liverpool teenagers were given chances in the last round against Milton Keynes Dons.
Jones won the man of the match award in that fixture and Elliott was a standout performer in the attack. Despite their young age, Jones and Elliott look like two of the most talented Reds starlets.
Aldridge wants young duo in the team

In his feature for The Liverpool Echo, Aldridge wrote: “Curtis Jones has been playing really really well for the Under 23s and scoring goals from midfield so it will be good to see him given another opportunity to show what he can do along with young Harvey Elliott who seems to be growing in confidence every time he steps on the pitch.”
TBR’s view
Both players can expect to be in contention for some game time on Wednesday night. It will be a massive occasion and an Anfield debut for either player – if they get on.
Elliott has a chance of operating on the wings as Klopp is ready to rest Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. Jones might have a more difficult battle as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Naby Keita need game time too. But he has earned his chance with his top performances for the youth teams.
