Former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has urged Simon Mignolet to leave the club this summer.
The Belgian stopper’s future is currently up in the air, with The Evening Standard reporting Crystal Palace have lodged an £8 million offer for the ex-Sunderland star.
Before the links to the Eagles though, The Mirror had reported the club were keen for Mignolet to stay.

Were he to do that, then Mignolet would continue on the bench with Alisson now firmly established as the club’s number one.
The Brazilian played almost every game last term, with Mignolet making just two appearances.
In the eyes of Kirkland, Mignolet should be thinking about moving on. He told talkSPORT: “Simon has got to sit down and decide what he really wants to do.

“He’s still got many years to go, I would be surprised if he didn’t want to go and play somewhere.
“Only Simon will know what he wants to do, but I’d be surprised after playing for so many years and still being relatively young for a goalkeeper if he didn’t want more game time.”
TBR’s view
£60,000-a-week star Mignolet (Spotrac) absolutely has the quality to become a number one for another Premier League side.

It really is down to what he wants to do, but he isn’t short of suitors and rightly so.
Having spent six years at the club and having just won the Champions League, perhaps now the time is right to depart with Alisson set for the number one gig for years to come.
